Different Kinds Of Thickening Shampoos

Are you tired of boring, limp, and thin hair?  That’s okay because many men and women would agree with you that this kind of hair is just not appealing anymore.  Thinning hair is becoming a problem for both men and women not only because it is boring and uninteresting but it also indicates a possibility of baldness in the future.  And because of this, the beauty industry is earning over twenty billion dollars in sales because of these products alone, and a majority of these sales are made by women consumers.  Women most especially want to have more interesting and stylish hair and therefore would buy all kinds of hair products just to be able to thicken their hair up.  They buy what is popularly known as thickening shampoo, which is a kind of shampoo that is made to thicken hair by adding more volume to each strand.  Thickening shampoo is also being used to grow hair, so men who are balding would also buy thickening shampoo to thicken and grow their hair.

To be able to understand why many people buy thickening shampoo, it is important to at least know how thickening shampoos work.  A normal and regular shampoo, especially if it is an effective kind, would clean one’s hair by removing all the impurities in your hair such as dust, dirt, oil, and the like.  It also cleans one’s scalp well from these impurities, leaving more room in between strands where those impurities were before.  Now, when thickening shampoo is used, it not only cleans out both your hair and scalp but also adds volume to each hair strand to make it look thicker and fuller.  Most of today’s thickening shampoos contain two main ingredients that are responsible for thickening and hair growth.  The first is keratin, which is also known as protein.  Hair is made up of 90% keratin and is needed to strengthen each strand of hair which is why most thickening shampoos are keratin or protein-based.  The second ingredient is known as Panthenol, which is a kind of vitamin B-5 and responsible for increasing moisture in hair.  When there’s more moisture, more volume is added to each hair strand.

So what are the different kinds of thickening shampoo?  There are actually lots of brands of thickening shampoos, each with their own special and unique ingredients or formulas that make them stand out from all the rest.  There is the thickening shampoo that is combined with ingredients that can soften hair, ingredients that can add color to your hair, and of course that can add a few inches in growth.  There are thickening shampoos for women and thickening shampoos for men.  All you have to do to find the right shampoo is to read the labels at the back, try the shampoo out for a few days, and check if it produces the kind of result you expect from a good thickening shampoo.
